Happy Halloween
Saturday morning we got up and let Grant carve his pumpkin. (Well with a little help from Daddy, of course.) After lounging around most of the day we decided to go ahead and get Grant dressed to go out Trick-or-Treating. Well that was an experience all in itself. Grant decided he did not like his costume. After we finally got it on him he settled down. We headed out a little after 4pm. Our first stop was to my parents. My mom made Grant is own Halloween basket. He really racked up. He got Gerber Puffs, Yogurt Melts and Graduate Lil' Crunchies and an apple. After that we stopped by a few friends homes to show Grant off. After making the rounds with the friends we headed to our church's Trunk-a-Treat. We only stayed a little while there because/ it was starting to get cold and we had a very tired little puppy dog. He actually fell asleep in the car on the way home.

North Carolina Bound
Last Thursday my parents, Grant and I drove 12 1/2 hours to Jacksonville, NC to see my brother and sister-in-law. I was a little worried how Grant would handle being in his car seat that long. Surprisingly enough he did very well. We got him out every time we stopped. The only problem we had was getting him back into his car seat. We had to bribe him with Gerber puffs to get back in. ;) Thursday night when we finally arrived at their house Grant was so excited to get out of his car seat he did not go to bed until 11 PM. Late night for a little boy that is usually in bed by 8 PM. Sunday we decided to take Grant to the beach. He loved it. He would crawl right toward the waves.

Shoes
Last Sunday on our way to visit Jason's parents in Mount Juliet we decided to take a detour to Opry Mills. We had been discussing for some time that we need to get Grant his first pair of sneakers. I friend of mine had recommend Stride Rite. She said they would measure his feet and get him in just the right shoes. Sure enough they measured his feet and determined he wore a size 5. The salesman explained the different stages of shoes they had and recommended a couple. After much discussion we decided on a pair.
(Trying to figure out what we put on his feet)

9 Month Check Up
Grant went for his 9 month check up today. He weighed in at 19 lbs 14 ozs and 28 1/2 inches long. He got his toe pricked and 1 of 2 of his flu shots. We go back in a month to get the 2nd flu shot. He was such a good boy. He only cried for a minute with the shot and did not even flinch with the prick.
It's so amazing to sit back and watch Grant grow and discover things. He does something new everyday. His new thing the past couple of days is when you tell him to say "Dada" he will shake his head NO. It's the funniest thing. He pulls up on everything. He is doing much better on his balance. He has started crawling on all 4's. He has been doing what we call the "military" crawl for quite some time. If he has to go a short ways he will crawl on all 4's but, if he has to go a long way its much faster to do the militray crawl.
